Shout it from the Mountaintop

Shout it from the Mountaintop: July 24, 2012

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” – Melody Beattie

  1. This makes me think of one my favorite Chesterton quotes “Gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.” G.K. Chesterton and quoted on the site http://www.gratefulness.org Thanks for these shouts from the mountaintop. Good stuff.

  2. An “attitude based on gratitude” is what I call it. It requires one to constantly be on the lookout for one’s own smugness, complacency and feeling of entitlement, but it is so worth it. Even though my batting average wouldn’t qualify me for the major leagues of gratitude, I think it is worth trying every day.
