Thanks. Gracias. Merci. Danke.

We have so much to be thankful for at Camp Stevens, not only during the holidays, but every day of the year.

We’re thankful for the summer campers who fill this place with laughter and screeches of joy. We’re thankful for the dioceses and churches within who support us, year in and year out. We’re thankful for early morning light. We’re thankful for our retreat center guests, who bring interesting conversations and new perspectives to us each weekend. We’re thankful that we have enough to eat. We’re thankful to live in a community of kind, committed people. We’re thankful for the land that we live on. We’re thankful for the opportunity to educate folks about environmentalism and sustainability, and for the open-mindedness of the people who come here, willing to be educated. We’re thankful for the overwhelming beauty of God’s creation. We’re thankful that we don’t have to commute to work. We’re thankful for the vision of Peter and John and all of those staff members who have gotten us to 2011, and who will take us forward. We’re thankful for wild turkeys, prancing deer, stealth bobcats, and soaring hawks. We’re thankful for the community of Julian.

And we’re thankful for the widespread community of Camp Stevens friends. From our family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!
